This 4-week beginner hand-building course introduces students to the foundational techniques of working with clay without the wheel. In a structured and supportive studio environment, students will explore slab construction while learning how to build strong, well-crafted forms.
Throughout the session, students will create both functional and sculptural ceramic pieces while developing an understanding of surface, structure, and form. Instruction includes carving, paddling, refining shapes, adding attachments, and exploring slips and underglazes, along with an introduction to glazing and finishing techniques.
By the end of the course, students will complete multiple finished works while building confidence and a solid technical foundation in hand-building.

✨ Optional Add-On: Saturday Open Studio Access
Students may add Saturday Open Studio access (12:00 PM – 6:00 PM) for the duration of their 6-week session for $100.
Open Studio is typically $40 per day, making this a great value for students who want additional practice time outside of class to refine techniques, experiment with new ideas, and continue building confidence in the studio.
