Alternative Firing Workshop
Experience the excitement and unpredictability of raku firing at the Clayworks Alternative Firing Workshop! In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the art of raku firing and gain practical knowledge on how to set up a kiln from start to finish.
Tuition: $50 per person (plus a 3% processing fee)

Location: DB Pottery (Located within The Falstaff El Paso), 3801 Frutas Ave, El Paso, TX
What to Bring: Please bring your own bisque-fired pieces to fire during the workshop. Sample pieces will be provided while supplies last, but we encourage you to bring your own!
What You'll Learn:
How to safely set up and operate an alternative firing kiln
Raku glazing, heating, and reduction techniques
How to manage thermal shock and pull glowing hot pieces from the kiln to achieve unique, dynamic surface finishes
